Ingredients:

A zone :

500g lean ground beef.

1/2 cup beef stock or 1/2 cup red wine.

1 cup tomato puree.

2 cloves garlic minced.

2 tbsp oregano.

2 tsp ground black pepper.

1 tsp salt (optional)

------------------

Ingredients B :

200g sliced mushrooms.

100g diced celery.

1 large onion diced.

100g bacon (optional) thinly sliced or diced.

50g sun dried tomatoes.

1 cup tomato puree.

4 tbsp lemon juice.

2 tbsp rosemary.

Ingredients C :

Lasagne sheets.

Grated mozarella cheese.

2 cups large curdled cottage cheese.

Sliced Edams cheese.

Method.

Put the garlic into a pan, turn on very low heat, add extra virgin olive oil (2tbsp)

When the oil gets hot (garlic be bubbling) add the oregano and turn up heat to medium for 1 minute or so.

Add the ground beef, turn up to high heat and brown it. Half way, add the red wine, thoroughly fry and ensure beef is no longer chunky.

Let the liquids reduce to 1/3 and add the tomato puree and pepper.

Mix thoroughly. Let simmer on low heat for mins.

Then set it aside.

In a clean pan, fry up ingredients B only difference is the vegetables should not be cooked for more than 1/2 minute.

Assembly.

Follow the instructions of the prep of the lasagne sheets. (Using the dry type is advisable)

On a baking pan, rub some olive oil then dust some Italian seasoning, lay 1 layer of sheets.

Then follow it something like this.


Top

Mozzarella Cheese

Ingredient A

Sheet

Ingredient B

Cottage Cheese.

Sheet

Ingredient A

Edams Cheese

Sheet

Mozzarella Cheese

Ingredient B

Cottage Cheese

Sheet

Pan



After assembly. Bake for 45 mins at 200 celcius.



A tip : It generally will taste a lot better if A Zone is cooked and stored overnight prior to assembly.
