| I choose ICI Pearl Glo series for my house interior painting and my contractor has since complained a lot regarding this paint. According to him the ICI Pearl Glo will reflect the lights and show many imperfection at the walls, ceilings, etc. He also mentioned that if later on they do touch up for the painted wall, the touch up area is clearly visible for this kind of paint. He said those normal paint is easier to work with. Well, I clearly do not know whether he is really recommending a better paint to me or trying to make his life easier. I still opt for ICI Pearl Glo. |

digi sifu,
i think he needs positive reinforcement for his choices...
survivor,
here's my 2 cents... yes, ur contractor is right that pearl glo (most glossy paint for that matter) reflects light and highlight imperfection in the plastering and compounding, but some said it is easier to clean than matte finish paint. matte finish pain on the other hand is almost direct opposite of gloss finish paint, it hides imperfection but might be a bit difficult to clean... which one u like it is up to you...
as digitalkl said, u hav made a choice then it is better to stick to it, that is unless u wan to change it to matte finish paint...
cheers! _________________ BMW, Building Cars People First |

hahahaha...well, it is always better to have a second opinion right?
Yeah I already opt for Pearl Glo, just wondering maybe others who have used it can share some feedback too. I previously used it at my apartment that's why I opt to use it again in my new house. So finger cross that the final outcome will be good.
Nowadays there are matt paints made ease to clean as well. Check out all major paint manufacturers website for more information |

the problem using pearl glo is when you touch up a small part of the wall, you will have to repaint the entire wall as the color will look slightly different on the small patch. you will need to get a good painter who doesnt do patch up here and there. _________________ SIMILAN ??? |

for me, i go for the colors. those ICI are restricted to a certain palette. most likely your neighbours, if they are using pearl glo, will be using the same colors too. how many shades of white can there be?
thats why i go for Jotun. i use the matt paints only. unlimited color choice. |
