i was thinking of using dead bolt but i feel now screw is better incase in future need to repaint.

Initially it was bolt nail but after one of my window edge was torn apart, I insisted on them using screw. Later they will cover the screw head with a type of glue that cannot be removed except using makita. Some would weld the screw head to destroy its groove. If your purpose of using screw so that you can open it in future, it will also make it easy for burglar to unscrew it as well unless your mounting ear is on the inside. Usually new design have mounting ear on the outside so that it look nice from the inside.

spamfish,

When are you going to install your front gate? CBA installer told me you have not move your pillar yet and your gate is in storage. It's good to see yours in action first before they fabricate mine.

even if it is fixed, you can still repaint it with brush albeit with difficulty especially in tight spaces. Priority should be on security rather than whether can repaint later. You can design removable grill for every windows if it is important for you to remove them later for repainting.

Ha, mine finish installing everything except custom furnitures. I'm DIY on a number of things and those a bit slow to progress.

Autogate is DCMoto GFM-905 Premium. Gate quality is per price that you paid for. Do not expect anywhere close to Renocol, LeGate, Delux etc. that cost thousands more. DCMoto so far is doing well. Premium version has additional features. Hit a snag during gate installation as the railing installed by Renocol is not level, maybe was done on purpose for Renocol gate. Need to change the level a bit but one side of gate is not able to fully open sometimes. I reverse the roller yesterday, hopefully that fixed it as it is working fine thus far. praying
